The 2005 Southern
Division Champion and top seed in the National Conference Georgia Force
open the Drive to ArenaBowl XIX Las Vegas playoffs by hosting a Divisional
Round game against the fourth seeded Tampa Bay Storm on Sunday, May 29th
at 3:30 p.m. in Philips Arena.
Georgia returns to the postseason for just the second time in club history and carry a 1-1 all-time record in playoff action. In 2003, the Force won their Wild Card match-up against Dallas before falling to San Jose in the Quarterfinal Round. | |||||

Straight from a wildly successful Off-Broadway run, Theatrical Outfit presents a new musical about this Southern legend. This show received fabulous reviews in New York and is sure to be a hot property for major theaters across the country. See it first on the Balzer Theater stage. | |||||

@ VSA Arts for All Gallery | thru Friday, June

The eleven
participating artists come from around the state of Georgia and beyond.
Each artist has a distinctive artistic style and vision, and they work in
a variety of two- dimensional mediums including photography, mixed media,
acrylics, pen and ink, watercolors and computer- generated art.
Curator Linda Seay notes she specifically sought out "emerging artists with disabilities, with interesting personal stories, who are looking for opportunities to show their work. Arts for All Gallery is a program of VSA arts of Georgia, and gallery is open to the public Monday - Friday, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is always free, and there is an ADA- accessible entrance; Braille and large print exhibition pamphlets and audio description materials are also provided. | |||||

Sculptures for this
show were selected by a curatorial board consisting of representatives
from surrounding neighborhoods and many diverse cultural and educational
organizations. These organizations include EyeDrum, the Metropolitan
Public Art Coalition, Art Papers and the City of Atlanta's Department of
Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.
The 2005 exhibition is just the beginning of Art in Freedom Park. It will be followed by a series of annual shows entitled Discover Freedom Park beginning in spring 2006 that will focus on different areas of Freedom Park's 212 acres. | |||||

The Braves have won
eight straight home games. John Smoltz will take the mound in the opener
of a three- game set against the Phillies at Turner Field tonight to keep
that streak alive.
In the nine starts he's made since Opening Day Smoltz has posted a 1.79 ERA and pitched into the seventh seven times. One of those occasions came on April 16, when he allowed the Phillies two earned runs in seven innings and was handed a tough-luck loss. The Phillies, who were swept at Turner Field on April 22-24, will counter with Cory Lidle. On Sunday, there will be a free Coca-Cola Collector's Series 1996 National League Champion Pennant Day for First 15,000 fans to enter the stadium. | |||||
