Hello Crew!
Get through the workweek and over hump day by taking in a free concert!
Wednesday WindDown features live concerts by some of the best music
acts in town. Enjoy everything from jazz to contemporary music performed
live on stage. This Wednesday, WindDown
with COP Program Algebra and La Tonya Peoples Soul. If dinnertime
hunger sets in, theres no need to worry. Food and drinks
are available for purchase at the Fountainside Café, located in
the Visitor Center, and around the amphitheater.
Saturday downtown is jam packed with great options. Starting off at 9:00
a.m. the Georgia Dome plays host to the 2004
Draft Day Fan Fest
with all kinds of great activities including a 5K run.
Then, at 11:00, the Georgia
Police Memorial Ride 2004 revvs up at Turner Field.
This is a ride for motorcycle entuhsiasts who want to show to the
people of Georgia that support and recognition of fallen Law Enforcement
Officers is important to everyone. This will be the 13th such ride organized
through the Blue Knights organization to cover ALL Sworn Officers killed
in the line of duty in the previous year. All efforts are to help support
the families of those downed officers and to HONOR their memories.
Also on Saturday, the Captain Planet Foundation, founded by Ted
Turner, presents their 2nd
annual "Down to Earth Day Kids Fest." This
could be the
most beneficial Earth Day youve ever had since
the Earth Day Kids Fest is combined this year with March
Of Dime's WalkAmerica! The event taking place on Saturday, April 24th,
2004 at Centennial Olympic Park from 11:00 am - 3:00 p.m., will offer
environmental programs, hands-on education stations, special guest speakers
and musical entertainment by 2004 Grammy Award nominee, Zak Morgan, featuring
music from his album, "When Bullfrogs Croak".
