'68

Noise rock two-piece '68 brings their chaotic, genre-defying live set to The Masquerade on June 20.

68

'68 is a two-piece noise rock band formed in Atlanta by guitarist and vocalist Josh Scogin — a veteran of the Christian metalcore scene who previously fronted The Chariot — and drummer Michael McClellan. Their sound is intentionally abrasive and difficult to categorize: heavy guitar work combined with discordant blues and punk impulses in a way that resists easy genre handles.

Albums like In Humor and Sadness (2014) and Two Parts Viper (2017) built them a devoted following of listeners who find the aggressive mainstream end of rock music too polished. Playing The Masquerade gives them a hometown show — Scogin is Atlanta-based — in a room that suits the controlled chaos they bring to every performance. June 20.
