keiyaA (pronounced "key-uh") is a Chicago-based artist whose 2020 debut Forever, Ya Girl was one of the most critically praised underground R&B records of the year — a genuinely unusual album that moves between soul, hyperpop, and noise with the ease of someone for whom genre conventions are optional rather than structural. Comparisons to early FKA twigs, Arca, and classic soul were floated and all felt partially accurate.
