Cosm, a 70,000-square-foot immersive entertainment venue, announced it will display 40 World Cup matches at its upcoming Centennial Yards location in downtown Atlanta, including all U.S. Men's National Team contests. The venue opens June 10, debuting with NBA Finals Game 4, just days before Atlanta hosts its first World Cup match.
The technology centers on an 87-foot diameter LED dome inspired by planetarium design. Live camera feeds from multiple vantage points throughout each match allow operators to switch between behind-the-net views and sideline perspectives in real time, creating what Fox Sports executive Michael Bucklin described as an experience that will "make the world's biggest events feel even bigger."
Atlanta's Cosm is the company's third venue, joining existing installations in Los Angeles and Dallas. It anchors the Centennial Yards entertainment district, a $5 billion redevelopment transforming 50 acres of rail lines and parking lots into a mixed-use district with thousands of apartments, office towers, restaurants, retail, and hotels. The district also includes a Live Nation concert venue and a 3,000-person gathering plaza.
For fans who couldn't secure stadium tickets — which range from $650 to $8,100 on FIFA's official site — Cosm offers an immersive alternative. Ticket presales began May 15 at cosm.com.
