You ATLanta city center ally with the inside scoop from a local's point-of-view

What is downtownATL.com?

downtownATL.com is your City Center Ally — a destination guide for downtown Atlanta written from a resident's point of view.

The site brings together the people, places, events, news, and stories reshaping Atlanta's downtown district.

Who built it?

downtownATL.com was founded and is curated by Erich Starrett, long-time advocate for the city center and the 2nd Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Association President, who moved to Atlanta the year of the 1996 Olympics. The site draws on deep and wide relationships with residents, business owners, and stewards of the district and the city and amplifies their existing publications and messaging with an editorial voice of downtownATL residents.

Why now?

Originally conceived three decades ago during the 1996 Olympics, we are reimagining and relaunching downtownATL.com as we welcome the world for eight matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup™. But that is just the starting gun. The hundreds of millions of dollars spent on city center have seeded a complete revitalization of the downtown district and we will be here to share the best of the best of places, events, and "locals only gems" from a resident's point-of-view.
