Guac y Margys closed on Sunday, June 28, 2026, after nearly nine years in Atlanta. Both the Old Fourth Ward location at 661 Auburn Ave and the West Midtown store shut the same weekend, capped by a final celebration with special cocktails and a bartender-driven menu.
The owners pointed to the economics rather than the appetite: “Rising costs and competition have always been a challenge for restaurants, especially in Atlanta, and we are no exception.”
It was a margarita bar and taqueria built on a simple pitch — lime juice squeezed the same day, guacamole made to order, and a patio looking onto the Beltline. Kids and dogs welcome, which is rarer along that stretch than it should be.
We keep the page up because the Auburn Avenue corridor is worth remembering as it changes. Closing reported by Secret Atlanta.
