What it is
Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken serves hand-battered, made-to-order chicken at 231 Peachtree Street NE, Suite A-05, in The Hub at Peachtree Center, where it is listed among the dining options. The restaurant says its recipe began with Napoleon “Na” Vanderbilt in Mason, Tennessee, more than 60 years ago, and that it serves southern spicy fried chicken rather than Nashville hot chicken.
Food and drink
Chicken comes by the piece, as white meat (breast and wing) or dark (thigh and leg), as a half chicken, or as tenders and wings. Plates include baked beans, slaw and white bread. Sides on the menu also include fried okra, greens, mac and cheese and potato salad, and the restaurant says it makes its sides in-house daily. Pies are on the dessert list, and the house-brewed iced tea comes sweet or unsweet.
