What it is
The Candler Hotel Atlanta, part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, fills the historic Candler Building at 127 Peachtree Street NE. Coca-Cola founder Asa Griggs Candler built the 17-story Beaux-Arts high-rise in 1906, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Architects George Stewart and George E. Murphy designed it, and it reopened as a hotel in the summer of 2019 after a restoration. The hotel has 265 guest rooms and suites, a library, and a complimentary business center and fitness center. Downtown Atlanta Inc. notes the hotel holds a MICHELIN Key.
Food and drink
By George is the hotel’s dining room, set in the former Central Bank and Trust space and named for the two architects. It serves Contemporary American cooking with an extensive wine program and cocktails. Breakfast runs daily, lunch Monday through Friday, brunch on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner every day. The restaurant also hosts private events, with a 14-seat chef’s table, a 16-seat granite bar and a private cocktail lounge.
