'I AM Peace' Station Opening a Permanent Space in Castleberry Hill

Tea, meditation and music: the "I AM Peace" Station pop-up moves into 210 Peters Street SW in Castleberry Hill.

A wellness concept that has spent the last few years popping up in metro Atlanta and Long Beach, California, is settling into a permanent home in Castleberry Hill. The "I AM Peace" Station plans to open its first brick-and-mortar location in March inside the Smith & Porter Apartments at 210 Peters Street SW.

The idea behind the space is simple: give people on the go somewhere to take a short time out. Rather than a cafe or a shop in the traditional sense, the station is built around a ticketed visit. Each ticket covers an individualized experience that starts with sharing a cup of the station's signature herbal tea blend. From there, visitors move into a guided meditation paired with musical remedies.

Guests can also choose how they want to exchange greetings. Options include a hug, a handshake, a namaskar or palm-mirroring, so the choice of contact is left to each visitor. The room itself is meant to feel cozy and welcoming, a quick stop for people who are moving through their day.

Beyond the core tea-and-meditation session, the station will also offer spiritual services, and merchandise will be sold on site.

The concept traces back to 2021, when Yvonne Rosegarden started the "I AM Peace" Station as a pop-up. She designed it as a public social-emotional remedy, a response to the disconnection so many people felt during the pandemic. Since then, the pop-up has appeared in metro Atlanta and on the West Coast in Long Beach.

Rosegarden said sharing peace with neighbors near and far has been a joy for her, and that the most satisfying part is watching people shift their mood in only a few moments. With a fixed address, she said, anyone who lives in Atlanta or is passing through can now come in and try the experience for themselves.

The new location puts the station on Peters Street in Castleberry Hill, trading the temporary setup of a pop-up for a fixed spot inside an apartment building.

Tickets will be sold online. Updates on the opening are being posted on the station's Instagram account, @iam.peacestation.
