What it is
AG, Modern Bar & Steakhouse is the signature restaurant on the second floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta downtown. It opened in 1999 as Atlanta Grill, the first locally branded restaurant for the Ritz-Carlton brand, and was renovated and relaunched as AG in 2016. Leather booths and vintage photographs set the tone in the dining room, and there is patio seating above Peachtree Street.
On the menu
Grilled steaks lead the way, backed by seafood, local and seasonal ingredients, a wine list with rare bottles and handcrafted cocktails. Executive Chef Quinn Bullard arrived in 2024. One dish has outlasted every version of the restaurant: the Original salad from 1999, with blue cheese, sliced grapes and spiced pecans. Vegetarian and vegan dishes and a children’s menu are available, and the kitchen will work with dietary needs noted at booking.
Before you go
Reservations are highly recommended, online or by phone at 404-659-0400. The suggested dress is upscale business casual or cocktail attire. AG serves breakfast daily, lunch on weekdays, brunch on weekends and dinner every night, and the AG Bar keeps its own schedule. For groups, private spaces include The Kitchen, a chef’s table for up to 10, and The Distillery, which seats up to 16. The restaurant says diners can use the hotel’s valet at a discounted $15. For a drink before dinner, the hotel’s Lumen Lounge is close at hand.
