What it is
Gibney’s Pub has been the neighborhood bar at 231 Peachtree Center Avenue, part of Peachtree Center, since 1997. It’s named for the owner’s father, John B. Gibney, and keeps things casual, with a jukebox, pool tables, twelve beers on tap and the game on. It does a quick lunch for the office crowd, fills up with convention visitors, and stays open late.
Food and drink
The kitchen sticks to pub standards done with some care. Starters include a Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, fried cheese curds, pickle chips, chili nachos and smokehouse wings in flavors from Carolina Gold to mango habanero. Pub favorites cover fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and chicken pot pie, alongside salads and a Certified Angus beef burger. The main menu runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a separate late-night menu after that.
Private events
Gibney’s books private and public events for up to 200 people, with table, line or buffet service and food and drink packages. It also caters birthdays, office parties and other gatherings.
