What it is
Officially the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame, this 94,256-square-foot building has about 50,000 square feet of exhibit space. Around 1,074 players and 230 coaches have been enshrined. That’s roughly 0.02 percent of everyone who has played the college game.
What to do
The tour starts at The Quad and continues past the Game Day Theater and a 45-yard indoor field, and much of it is hands-on. Belt out your school’s fight song at Shake the Stadium, then call the action from an ESPN College GameDay desk. You can test your speed and vertical leap at the Kia Performance Challenge. Other galleries dig into heated rivalries, the history of equipment, the service academies and the influence of HBCUs. Gamers can replay NCAA Football 14 on Xbox in the Microsoft Gaming Lounge. Through May 2027, Keith Duncan’s Battle of the Bands art exhibition celebrates HBCU marching bands.
Before you go
The Hall says visitors spend about two hours on average, and last tickets are sold at 4:30 p.m. Hours can change, and private events sometimes close parts of the building, so check the Hall’s website before you go. Outside food isn’t allowed, but you can order Chick-fil-A in its app and pick it up on the field. Admission is also included in Atlanta CityPASS.
Getting here
The Hall is on Marietta Street next to the Georgia World Congress Center, across the street from Centennial Olympic Park. It recommends the Green Deck at Baker and Marietta streets for parking. By MARTA, it’s a 10- to 15-minute walk from GWCC/CNN Center or Peachtree Center station.
