What it is
Constellations is a workspace and events venue at 135 Auburn Avenue, 2nd floor, in the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic District. The building was constructed in 1910 and designed by Hentz and Reid as the Southern School Book Building, with ornate garland swags and a torch of knowledge above an open book. Gene Kansas Commercial Real Estate has since reimagined the space.
Rooms
Constellations offers private offices, studies, conference rooms and workstations, along with photographic and film backdrops, a library with natural light and a podcast studio with a green room. Meetings and events are booked for intimate gatherings in what it calls a creative, historic setting.
Background
The idea came out of a workshop brainstormed by Gene Kansas and Ryan Gravel, who is known for conceiving the Atlanta BeltLine, about what makes a culturally inspiring workspace. It settled on three guiding principles: freedom of choice, community with retreat, and variety of experience and opportunity. Details are on the Constellations website.
