What it is
The Public Art Futures Lab is an initiative of the Fulton County Public Art Team, within Fulton County Arts and Culture. Its stated mission is to bring technology and public art together, and to make creating and experiencing tech-enabled art accessible to the community.
Programs
The Lab offers an artist-in-residence program, called AiR, for local artists whose practice depends on technology. Residents receive a stipend, space and equipment, and the program is built around a theme. The Lab also provides education stipends, access to technology equipment, and beginner-level classes and workshops. It creates exhibition opportunities and immersive experiences for tech-enabled work, and connects artists with partners and professional networks.
Partners
The Lab works with Downtown Atlanta Inc. and The Creatives Project, and CTR Culture Studios offers affordable creative space as part of that partnership. Meet the current residents and learn more on the Public Art Futures Lab website.
