What it is

The Georgia State University School of Music is the university's music school, based on the 5th floor at 75 Poplar St downtown.

Undergraduate programs include Arts Administration, Composition, Jazz Studies, Music Education, Music Industries and Performance. Graduate study covers Collaborative Piano, Conducting, Composition, Jazz Studies, Music Education, Performance and Piano Pedagogy, plus doctoral degrees in Music Education.

The school runs ensembles in band, jazz, choir, orchestra and opera, with Bent Frequency and Ensemble ATL as ensembles-in-residence. Performances take place at venues including Florence Kopleff Recital Hall and the Rialto Center for the Arts.
