What it is
Highland Bakery Downtown is the Georgia State campus location of the Atlanta breakfast and brunch bakery, at 25 Park Place NE. It offers indoor seating and carry out, and it can also be reached for catering and space rental.
Food and drink
The bakery serves breakfast, brunch and lunch all day, and says everything is made fresh daily. Dishes named on the brand's site include Cilantro Corn Cakes, a Crabcake Benedict, Jalapeno Focaccia bread and Peanut Butter High Hat cupcakes. The brand began when founder Stacey set up coffee carts around the city, then moved on to muffins and breads and Southern comfort food in a 1930s bakery building on Highland Avenue.
Before you go
The downtown location lists Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for dining, and is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Campus hours may vary, so call 404-330-8922 ahead. Delivery is listed through Chow Now and GrubHub. The menu is on the Highland Bakery website.
