What it is
The International Peace Fountain sits at the northern edge of Woodruff Park, along Peachtree Street in the Fairlie-Poplar district. It was built in 1995, during the run-up to the Centennial Olympic Games, and is credited to Nimrod Long & Associates. Its geyser and water wall give the park a focal point.
The park around it
Woodruff Park is a six-acre green space in the geographic center of Atlanta. It began in the 1970s as Central City Park, created through a donation from Robert W. Woodruff, the former president of The Coca-Cola Company. Another landmark in the park is the sculpture “Atlanta from the Ashes,” also called The Phoenix.
