What it is
Park Bar is a Walton Street pub that takes its whiskey and its taps seriously. The bourbon list turns over often enough that the bar warns some bottles may be gone by the time you visit, so it’s worth asking what’s open. Kentucky mainstays share the shelf with less common pours, including a bourbon made with Georgia-grown corn. The beer list leans local, with brewers from Athens, Decatur, Carrollton and Atlanta alongside national names and a non-alcoholic option.
Food and drink
Beyond the regular food menu, the kitchen runs a burger and wing of the month, and there’s a featured cocktail for anyone skipping the whiskey. To-go food can be ordered online through the bar’s website.
Private events
Two rooms can be booked. The upstairs space has its own full bar, an audio/video system and private restrooms, and holds up to 150 guests. The smaller Sun Room sits next to the main bar and dining room, fits up to 40, and looks out toward Centennial Olympic Park. Event requests go to the owners by email, listed on the Park Bar website.
Before you go
Park Bar posts the same schedule every day of the week: open from 11:30 a.m. until midnight. That makes it an easy lunch stop or a late drink after an evening near the park.
