What it is
Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint opened in 2011 in the 200 Peachtree building, pairing Southern cooking with live music. The restaurant describes itself as a modern take on the old juke joint, with exposed brick, metal and walnut wood, period photographs and an 18-foot mural by local artist Stacy Brown. Its history page ties the concept to the juke joints of the Southeast and the musicians who toured the Chitlin Circuit.
Food and drink
The menu leans on in-house smoked St. Louis ribs, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and a peach cobbler made with Georgia peaches. The bar pours specialty moonshine cocktails, beer and wine. The restaurant says it works with select local purveyors.
Live music
The events page posts a nightly lineup of bands, with trios and groups scheduled through late October.
