What it is
The Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar and View sits at the top of the Westin Peachtree Plaza, the 73-story cylindrical tower John Portman designed that opened in the early 1970s. The Sun Dial is a three-level complex: a restaurant, a cocktail lounge and an observation level.
Food and drink
The restaurant serves seasonal, contemporary American cooking with shareable plates, and the bar pours cocktails. The restaurant's rotation feature was listed as unavailable when we checked, but the 360-degree views are still open at the bar and lounge. The observation level, called The View, is on Level 72, 723 feet up.
Events
Event bookings are for groups of 20 or more, and there are group dining packages for 12 to 25 guests.
Before you go
The bar has a $35 minimum spend per guest and is for guests 21 and older with ID. The observation level charges $14 for adults and $8 for children. Hours can change for private bookings, so check the Sun Dial website.
