Brash Coffee Roasters, known for strong coffee out of very small spaces, opened its fifth Atlanta location at the Junction Krog District, in a shipping-container-style kiosk just off the BeltLine's Eastside Trail.
The difference from every other Brash: this one pours alcohol. The house specialty is an espresso martini built on freshly roasted Brash beans.
"It gives you energy to kick off your night," said general manager Richie Hicks, a trained sommelier who designed the drinks list. "It's a combination of people's favorite things: coffee and alcohol, and it's delicious." Owner Chris Mcleod described the approach as "a highly curated program that is simple and coffee-forward" — a short list of classic cocktails with house syrups, natural wines and local beer by the glass.
Activating the patio
The kiosk serves everything to go, but the surrounding 7,000-square-foot communal patio carries its own open-container licence, so you can drink on site. A few espresso-bar seats look directly into the kiosk.
That licence is the real point. Mcleod framed the goal as helping "activate the communal patio outside regular coffee hours" — turning a daytime coffee stop into somewhere the Krog District stays busy after dark.
