Park Bench, the dueling-piano bar that built its reputation in Buckhead since 1994, has signed a lease for a second Atlanta location inside Centennial Yards' Entertainment District — joining the growing roster of nightlife tenants filling out the 7.5-acre district in downtown Atlanta's former Gulch.
The new spot will sit inside the district CIM Group and Centennial Yards Company are building around Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena, and Park Bench founder Larry Hall said the location was the point. “Being steps from Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena, inside a district built around live entertainment, is exactly where we want to be,” Hall said.
Centennial Yards teased the move on its own Instagram account the same day, posting a “JUST ANNOUNCED” graphic before the news broke more widely, and the account had spent the prior week building anticipation with a “something major is coming” countdown post.
Park Bench joins a lineup of Entertainment District tenants that already includes Shake Shack, The Irish Exit, and Cosm, with Virgin Hotels and Chops Lobster Bar still to come. The dueling-piano format — two performers trading requests and crowd-sung choruses over a piano bar — is built for exactly the kind of pre-game and post-event crowd Centennial Yards is chasing on Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena nights.
No opening date has been announced. downtownATL.com will update this story once Park Bench confirms a timeline.
