A 120-Day Pop-Up Is Taking Over Krog District's Empty BrewDog Space

Two months after BrewDog abruptly closed, the team behind Westside Motor Lounge is filling its 14,700-square-foot Krog District space with a live-music and bar-games pop-up called LikeMinds.

When the international brewery chain BrewDog shut its Krog District location without warning in March, it left one of the largest single vacancies anywhere along the Atlanta BeltLine's Eastside Trail - 14,700 square feet, including 2,700 square feet of patio, facing one of the busiest stretches of trail in the city.

That space is about to be filled, though not permanently. Kelly Campbell, the operator behind Westside Motor Lounge in English Avenue, is opening a large-scale pop-up there called LikeMinds, built around live music, bar games and a deep drinks list.

The run is deliberately finite. LikeMinds is planned as a 120-day stint starting in late spring - timed to catch Atlanta's 2026 FIFA World Cup crowds - and wrapping sometime in September. Organizers describe the approach as a lightning-in-a-bottle attempt at a summer destination rather than a permanent tenancy.

The lineup of collaborators is heavily local. Beau Nolen of Smith's Olde Bar is programming the music side, which includes regular live sets, guest DJs and what is being described as a curated vinyl program. The kitchen is being built out by Julian Hower of Smith's and Mark Frazie of Frazie's Meat & Market, leaning on the gourmet sandwiches both are known for, plus shareable plates. Weekend brunch comes from Hower, drawing on his Pho Cue concept, with brunch cocktails from Westside Motor Lounge's Dana Roberts. Southern Culinary & Creative and Bunker Design round out the partner list.

Beyond the stage, the space is being reconfigured for billiards and bar games, with an upgraded audio-visual setup aimed squarely at sports viewing - useful positioning for a summer when much of the city will be watching matches. The bar program spans beer, wine, craft and draft cocktails, THC beverages and alcohol-free options. It will operate seven days a week.

For 26th Street Partners, which owns Krog District, the arrangement solves an immediate problem without committing the anchor space to a long-term lease. The pop-up "aligns with our vision of creating an engaging, community-driven destination while shining a light on Atlanta businesses and brands," the ownership group said in announcing the concept.

Notably, the concept answers things Urbanize Atlanta readers had specifically asked for in comment threads after BrewDog's closure: live music, games and a real bar program on a stretch of the BeltLine that had suddenly gone quiet.
