Skol Brewing Company has opened in downtown Atlanta with Viking-themed brews and a menu featuring Minnesota specialties. The establishment comes from Atlanta-based hospitality group 200 Peachtree Group and is located at 155 Carnegie Way inside the 200 Peachtree Street building. Valhalla Social, an "eatertainment" concept set to open above Skol, is on hold with a tentative opening in 2026 before the World Cup. In the meantime, the brewpub has partnered with American Axes for ax throwing in an adjacent space and offers free games including Skee-Ball, foosball, darts and shuffleboard.
Chef Rich Rosendale developed the menu, which features classic pub food like onion rings, fried pickles, soft pretzels, chicken tenders, nachos and burgers. The restaurant carries Minnesota influence throughout, from its Viking motif to its name—a Scandinavian word meaning "cheers" and the fight song for the Minnesota Vikings. Notable menu items include the "Jucy Lucy" burger with two beef patties stuffed with American cheese, topped with grilled onions and pickles, and smoked brisket poutine featuring Rosendale’s 18-hour smoked brisket and Wisconsin cheese curds.
Skol contract brews with Arches Brewing in Hapeville, allowing the brewpub to offer a full bar without producing its own spirits. The venue will serve wine, cocktails, beer from other breweries, mead, cider and rotating Skol brews. Five Skol beers will be on tap opening week: Northern Lights, Space Wrangler, Uff Da, 3rd Degree Burns and others.
The 5,000-square-foot space features 124 seats with numerous televisions, wood floors, exposed ceilings, antler chandeliers, a backlit bar and mixed seating options. Nordic décor contributes to a "north woods cabin" aesthetic. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Monday-Friday and noon-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
