Downtown Atlanta's weekday breakfast and lunch crowd has a new name to watch. Silverspoon Cafe has lined up a home at 151 Ellis St. NE, a plan that surfaced through a recent business license filing with the City of Atlanta.

The person behind the project is Jacquelyne Roberson, who is not new to the food business. She already runs Silverspoon Catering, and the cafe carries that same name into a storefront of its own. A fixed address on Ellis Street gives the Silverspoon name a place where downtown workers and visitors can walk in on a regular schedule.

Roberson told What Now Atlanta that the cafe will keep a weekday-only schedule. The plan is to open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., closing in the late afternoon and staying closed on weekends. Those hours line up squarely with the working day, covering an early coffee stop before the office, a midday lunch break and an afternoon pick-me-up before the commute home.

That schedule says a lot about who the cafe expects to serve. A 7 a.m. start suits the morning rush, while a 4 p.m. close signals a focus on daytime traffic rather than dinner or nightlife. For anyone who works nearby, it adds one more option to the morning and lunch rotation.

Timing was the open question when the plan first came to light. Roberson set her sights on a May opening, but she was clear that the date would hinge on the city permitting process. With those approvals still pending at the time, the opening date stayed flexible.

Details on what will actually be served are still to come. The menu had not been shared publicly when the filing was reported, and neither had the look of the space. Those are the pieces most likely to shape the cafe's identity, so they are the ones to watch for as the opening gets closer.

For now, the essentials are set: a name, an owner with an existing catering business, an Ellis Street address and a weekday schedule built around downtown's working hours. downtownATL will share the menu, design and opening date as they become available.
