What it is
Artist Row is the cluster of artist-run studios and galleries inside Underground Atlanta, along Alabama Street in Five Points. After Lalani Ventures bought the four-block district, artists were invited to lease storefronts and make the space their own. Musician and artist Mike Stasny moved his studio into Underground in 2021 and has described himself as the first artist in residence of the new Underground. His space, Mom Said It’s Fine, works as a studio, gallery and music venue at once.
What’s inside
Reporting on the project counts about eight galleries, music venues, performance spaces and bars operating together, with rotating exhibitions, concerts and performances. Underground’s own arts page also lists recurring activations such as the Pancakes & Booze traveling art show and interactive photo boards by Chris Wright on Lower Alabama Street.
