What it is
Paschal’s is a soul food restaurant and event space on Northside Drive in the historic Castleberry Hill neighborhood. The restaurant traces its roots to 1947, when brothers James and Robert Paschal opened a 30-seat luncheonette on West Hunter Street serving sandwiches and sodas, then added hot lunches as the business grew. Its website describes it as a meeting place during the civil rights movement.
Food and drink
The signature dishes include the 1947 fried chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens, black-eyed peas and fried catfish. The Southern kitchen is paired with a full bar and handcrafted cocktails.
Private dining
A private dining room can host up to 100 guests; details and booking are on the Paschal’s website.
