What it is
The Busy Bee is a planned soul food restaurant at The Mitchell, the residential tower at Centennial Yards. It is not open yet. Centennial Yards lists it as coming soon and says it will bring the restaurant’s celebrated flavors to residents and visitors in what it describes as a welcoming, community-driven setting.
What we know
The Busy Bee has been an Atlanta staple since 1947, and its original location sits off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Developer CIM Group announced in January 2026 that it had signed a lease for a space of about 2,985 square feet at The Mitchell. This would be the restaurant’s third location, and the opening is expected in 2027.
