What it is
Ruth's Chris Steak House has its downtown Atlanta dining room in the lobby of the Embassy Suites at Centennial Olympic Park on Marietta Street, right next door to the park and within walking distance of the stadium, the aquarium and the convention center. The steakhouse name goes back to 1965, when Ruth Fertel opened her first restaurant. This location is run by Sizzling Steak Concepts, which operates a group of Ruth's Chris restaurants across Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Food and drink
The signature is USDA Prime steak, finished with butter and chopped parsley and brought to the table on a plate heated to 500 degrees, so it is still sizzling when it lands. Seafood, New Orleans-style starters, cocktails and a long wine list fill out the menu, and there is a separate bar menu and a gluten-free menu. Happy hour, which the restaurant calls Ruth's Happiest Hours, runs every day from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Before you go
Dinner is served from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are taken online or by phone, large parties and private events can be booked, and pickup and delivery are available. The dining room asks guests to skip workout gear, tank tops and pool attire and to remove hats, though hats and team jerseys are fine in the bar and lounge. Details are on the Ruth's Chris Atlanta Downtown page.
