For thirty years Dälek have been building rap records that sound like nothing else in the genre — dense shoegaze drones, dub-heavy low end, and MC Dalek's flat, insistent delivery cutting through the murk. The project has collaborated with Faust and toured with everyone from Tool to Isis, and the live show leans harder into volume and texture than any record captures.
Purgatory is the Masquerade's intimate room, which makes it an unusually good fit for a group whose music depends on physical sound pressure.
Doors are at 7 p.m.
Room: Masquerade Purgatory, 50 Lower Alabama St, Underground Atlanta.
