Insomnium and Amorphis have spent three decades defining what melodic death metal sounds like when it comes out of Finland — Insomnium with its long-form, winter-lit songwriting, Amorphis with the folk melodies and clean-vocal turns it has been folding into the genre since the early nineties.
A co-headline pairing this evenly matched is rare on a U.S. routing, and the two bands trade the closing slot across the tour rather than settling it. Hinayana opens.
The show is Sunday, December 13, in Hell at The Masquerade.
