Spite is a Sacramento-based metalcore band whose sound sits at the heavier end of the genre's current spectrum — aggressive, technically precise, and uninterested in the melodic softening that has characterized much of modern metalcore's crossover appeal. Their albums Spite (2019) and Mask (2021) established them as a formidable touring presence whose live show is built around maximum impact at close range.
The Masquerade is exactly the right room for what they do: an intimate, acoustically confrontational venue where a metalcore band can operate at full volume without the diffusion that larger venues introduce. June 20.
