Montell Fish built an audience almost entirely outside the traditional industry pipeline, moving from lo-fi gospel uploads to the moody, reverb-soaked songwriting of JAMIE and CHARLOTTE. His records are quiet by design; the live shows turn that quiet into something closer to a congregation.
Heaven is the Masquerade's biggest room, and the size of the booking says something about how far the project has traveled.
