Vince Staples is a Long Beach, California rapper known for sharp social observation and production that draws as readily from electronic music as from West Coast tradition. His early work, Summertime '06 (2015) and Big Fish Theory (2017), established that reputation. His 2021 self-titled album and 2022's Ramona Park Broke My Heart leaned into melody and introspection.
Staples is also known for a dry, deadpan wit that runs through his interviews as well as his records. His October 19 show at The Tabernacle is listed as the Cry Baby Tour, with doors at 7 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m.
