The Lagoons
Indie-pop duo The Lagoons bring their sun-bleached California guitar pop to Hell at The Masquerade on a Friday night in September.
The Lagoons headline the Hell room at The Masquerade on Friday, September 25.
The project of brothers Ryan and Joey Selan, The Lagoons trade in a warm, unhurried strain of indie pop — clean guitar figures, disco-adjacent basslines, and vocals mixed soft enough to sit inside the groove rather than on top of it. The songs have found a long second life on streaming playlists, which has turned the band's live rooms into a mix of longtime followers and people who arrived through a single track.
Hell is the mid-sized of The Masquerade's three main rooms, which puts the show at the scale this material works best in: loud enough to feel the low end, tight enough that the band is not a distant silhouette.
Doors open at 7 p.m. at The Masquerade, 75 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW in Underground Atlanta.
