Atlanta's largest new hotel in 40 years has opened its elevated pool to people who are not staying there. The pricing is not what you would call municipal.
Signia by Hilton Atlanta is running a summer retreat program through ResortPass, aimed at locals who want a few hours of hotel amenities without booking a room.
What the pass gets you
Packages provide access to Spa Signia and Club Signia, with services including custom massages and HydraFacials. Treatments start at $220 and include up to three hours at the hotel's new saltwater pool and Highball, its open-air bar, both of which overlook Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the downtown skyline.
Also included: valet parking and access to the Recovery Lounge, the hotel's 23,000-square-foot wellness floor. Its features run to a sauna, zero-gravity chairs, heated infrared PEMF mats, Normatec leg compression, and what the hotel describes as calming soundscapes and curated aromatherapy.
The building itself
The 42-story Signia rose from part of the former Georgia Dome site and began opening in January of last year, the city's largest ground-up hotel development in more than four decades. It followed nearly three years of pandemic-delayed construction.
The 976-room tower at 159 Northside Drive is the first Signia by Hilton in Georgia and the tallest building on downtown's western flank. Everything above its 32nd floor stands higher than Mercedes-Benz Stadium next door.
Why a day pass
Downtown hotels built around conventions and events have a structural problem: their amenity floors sit empty between citywides. Selling access to locals converts that idle capacity into revenue and, incidentally, gives Atlantans a reason to go to a part of downtown many of them only visit for a game.
Whether $220 is the number that gets them there is a separate question. For the World Cup summer arriving next year, the pool will have no shortage of demand either way.
