Spiller Park opens fourth location in South Downtown development

Atlanta coffee shop Spiller Park has opened its fourth location in the South Downtown development in downtown Atlanta. Owner Dale Donchey preserved many historic architectural elements of the building, including white, burgundy and green tiled floors and wall castings. The new cafe at 233 Mitchell Street SW in Historic Hotel Row has achieved the "romantic feel" Donchey envisioned while maintaining respect for the building's history.

The 838-square-foot cafe offers a menu similar to other Spiller Park locations, featuring espresso drinks, teas, seasonal specials, and various toast options. Additional offerings include muffins, chocolate chip cookies, and yogurt, with limited indoor seating and covered sidewalk tables available.

Donchey opened the original Spiller Park in 2015 as a stall in Ponce City Market, naming it after Spiller Field, a historic ballpark. After German developer Newport's portfolio became tied up in foreclosure proceedings, new ownership by an investment group led by David Cummings and Jon Birdsong revived the project.
