What it is
By George is the all-day restaurant inside The Candler Hotel Atlanta, set in the space once occupied by Central Bank and Trust. The dining room is all north Georgia marble, crystal chandeliers and abundant natural light, a fitting stage for a menu of seasonal Contemporary American dishes built on classic technique. A deep wine list and a craft cocktail program run alongside the food.
When to go
The kitchen serves breakfast in the morning, lunch on weekdays, brunch on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner every night, so it works as easily for a morning meeting as for a special-occasion dinner. The bar opens in the late afternoon and stays open an hour later on Friday and Saturday nights. By George strongly recommends reservations, which you can make through the restaurant’s website.
Private events
For celebrations, rehearsal dinners or business dinners, the restaurant offers a 14-seat chef’s table, a 16-seat granite bar and a private cocktail lounge, with seasonal menus and a dedicated events team. Groups larger than 14 are asked to submit a proposal request form online.
Getting here
By George is at 127 Peachtree Street NE, in the landmark Candler Building. The restaurant offers valet parking for its guests at $6 for up to three hours.
