What it is
The Fountain of Rings is the centerpiece of Centennial Olympic Park and one of the most photographed landmarks in Georgia. Its jets are laid out in the shape of the Olympic Rings, and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, which runs the park, bills it as the largest interactive fountain in the world built around that symbol.
What to do
Between shows, the fountain works as a zero-depth splash area, with no standing pool, so kids can run through the jets. The main event is the choreographed show: water shoots more than 15 feet into the air while fog effects and a soundtrack play. The playlist mixes songs by Georgia-connected artists, classics and a few surprises. At night, 360-degree LED lighting joins in.
Before you go
GWCCA lists four daily show times: 12:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The 9:00 p.m. show is the one to catch for the full light effects, since the LEDs only run in the evening. If you’re planning a splash stop with kids, bring a towel and a change of clothes. The fountain sits in the middle of the park, so it’s easy to pair with a stroll across the lawn.
