The Sparrow

What it is

The Sparrow is a Szechuan Chinese counter at CTR Food Works, the food hall inside The CTR, the former CNN Center. It takes traditional Szechuan cooking methods and ingredients and serves them fast-casual style, so you can order at the counter and eat at the hall’s shared tables.

Food and drink

The menu is built around dumplings, wok-fired noodles, stir-fried dishes and rice bowls, plus small plates meant for sharing. That makes it a good fit for a group: order a few plates for the middle of the table and let everyone pick. If someone in your party wants something else entirely, the rest of the food hall is a few steps away. CTR Food Works comes from the team behind New York’s Gansevoort Market and Atlanta’s Chattahoochee Food Works.

The CTR lists hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The CTR directory has updates.
