What it is
Before it became The CTR, this Marietta Street complex was CNN Center. It opened as the Omni International Complex, became CNN’s headquarters, and drew visitors who came to tour the studios and watch live broadcasts. Owner-operator CP Group is now reworking it as The CTR, an indoor-outdoor destination with offices, retail, production studios and pop-up space, close to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena and the Georgia Aquarium.
Art to look for
CTR Culture, curated by ASHA Advisory, has brought large new commissions by Atlanta artists into the building. Look for “Southern Lighting” in the North Atrium, “Discordant Structure” in the East Atrium, “Close Encounters” at the South Canopy, and “Construct: CTR North” at the Andrew Young entrance. CTR Culture also runs a year-round public program of performances, artist talks, screenings and cultural gatherings. Culture Studios, run with partners including Downtown Atlanta Inc. and The Creatives Project, offers creative workspace for local artists.
Before you go
The CTR offers monthly tours on the last Thursday of every month. Its website lists nearby arena and stadium events, and The CTR plans watch parties and local showcases around major events. For coffee, Starbucks at The CTR is on site.
Getting here
The CTR’s own parking deck is at 30 Ted Turner Drive NW and is open 24/7. You can reserve a space through the CTR website.
