Fall Safari Camp at the Zoo

Zoo Atlanta turns fall break into a full week of animal encounters for kids.

Children exploring Zoo Atlanta during a school-break day camp.

Fall break lands the week of October 12, and Zoo Atlanta has a plan for it. Fall Safari Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., filling five days with keeper talks, up-close animal encounters, hands-on science and the kind of behind-the-scenes access a regular ticket does not buy.

Camp groups are organized by age, and each day moves between the zoo grounds and indoor classroom space, so the schedule holds up whether October gives Atlanta sun or rain. Registration is handled through Zoo Atlanta and fills quickly in the weeks before fall break.

The zoo sits in Grant Park, a short hop east of downtown and an easy addition to a week that might otherwise be spent indoors.
