Keeper for a Day: Reptiles and Amphibians
Shadow Zoo Atlanta's herpetology team for a morning of behind-the-scenes habitat work with snakes, frogs, and lizards.
Zoo Atlanta hands its reptile and amphibian house over to a small group of visitors on Saturday, October 3.
Keeper for a Day is not a tour. Participants report to the herpetology team and work the actual morning routine — preparing diets, servicing habitats, handling enrichment, and observing the health checks that structure a keeper's day. The reptile and amphibian edition covers the collection most zoo guests walk past quickest: venomous snakes managed under strict protocol, amphibians held as part of coordinated conservation breeding programs, and lizards whose care requirements are far more exacting than their glass enclosures suggest.
Group size is capped tightly, and the program carries an age minimum. It books separately from general admission.
Zoo Atlanta is at 800 Cherokee Avenue SE in Grant Park, a short drive east of the downtown core.
