Atlanta's 5th largest hotel unveils sweeping renovation. Take a look

The Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park has rebranded following CNN's departure, dropping "CNN" from its name and completing $15 million in renovations across approximately 600 guest rooms and suites in its North Tower.

The North Tower of the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park is shown on Marietta Street, Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Atlanta.

The Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park has rebranded following CNN's departure from downtown, dropping "CNN" from its name. The hotel has completed $15 million in renovations affecting approximately 600 guest rooms and suites across its North Tower.

The property launched themed suites celebrating Atlanta icons including Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium, and the College Football Hall of Fame. Three "Legacy Suites" were also introduced to commemorate the hotel's history in the city.

General Manager Ramon Reyes explained the rebranding: "It was an opportunity to say, 'OK, how do we transition? How do we evolve as this entire market evolves?'" The decision to anchor the hotel's identity to Centennial Olympic Park made sense given the 1996 Olympics' significance and the park's proximity to the property.

The Omni ranks as Atlanta's fifth-largest hotel with more than 1,000 rooms across two towers connected by a skybridge. The South Tower underwent a $12 million renovation in 2018. The North Tower refresh was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted business travel and tourism.

Reyes noted that business travel recovery continues gradually, stating it "has not yet bounced back to the level that it was before, but is it stronger than it was last year."
