Castleberry Hill is set to pick up a new spot for a morning cup. Kodak Smoothies and Koffee, a coffee and smoothie counter from Chef Kodak Harris, is planned for 131 Walker Street SW, just south of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The plans came to light through a building permit application filed with the City of Atlanta.
Harris is not new to the local food business. He is part of the team behind Trap Wingz and Hungry AF, and Kodak Smoothies and Koffee is a new concept from that same ownership. This time the focus is on drinks and baked goods.
The menu, as described so far, comes down to three things: coffee, smoothies and pastries. The initial report did not list prices, a full drink menu or hours, so those details will have to come from the owners.
The shop is not planned as a takeout-only window. Construction documents filed for the project show indoor seating, so guests will have somewhere to sit with their order. The space itself measures about 1,200 square feet.
Kodak Smoothies and Koffee will share its building with another newcomer. Identity ATL, an apparel and footwear store, is expected to open in the same property, which would put a coffee counter and a clothing and shoe shop under one roof at the Walker Street address.
The location places the shop inside the Castleberry Hill Historic Arts District, a short distance from the stadium on the south side of downtown.
On timing, Harris told What Now Atlanta in February 2025 that the team was targeting a March 2025 opening. The report did not include a firmer date, and anyone planning a visit should confirm the shop's status before heading over.
Updates on the project are expected on Instagram at @kodakskoffee, the account to follow for news on the opening and the menu.
For Castleberry Hill, the plans add a coffee, smoothie and pastry option at an address that is also lined up for a new apparel and footwear store, giving the block two new businesses in one building.
