The Historic Hotel Row project in downtown Atlanta will welcome its first tenants, including a new concept from the team behind How Crispy and a pizza shop developed by the group responsible for the Roof at Ponce City Market. Located along Mitchell Street within walking distance of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Hotel Row represents the initial phase of the South Downtown redevelopment by Newport, a real estate investment firm.

The stretch of Mitchell Street honors early 20th-century historic hotels that once operated there. The comprehensive development will feature restaurants, retail space, and office and artist spaces throughout the district.

The How Crispy team will launch an unnamed new concept at 235 Mitchell Street. Meanwhile, Slater Hospitality — operators of 9 Mile Station and Skyline Park at Ponce City Market — will open a pizza shop at 219 Mitchell Street offering sliced pizza and a walk-up window. Mandy Slater noted the venture represents "honoring my family's Italian heritage and making pizza the way my grandmother made it."

Beyond the pizza shop, Slater Hospitality is developing an underground cocktail bar incorporating an existing Outkast mural, along with a rooftop concept at 222 Mitchell Street. The renovation is expected to conclude in late 2021, with tenant openings anticipated during the first half of 2022.

Newport redesigned the building following the 2020 pandemic to include additional elevators and expanded outdoor seating areas.
