What it is
Azalea Fresh Market is a grocery store at 25 Peachtree St NW in downtown Atlanta, and it bills itself as the city's first municipal grocery store. It came out of a partnership among the City of Atlanta, Invest Atlanta, IGA and Savi Provisions, with the goal of fresh, affordable food for people who live, work and visit downtown. Savi Provisions, an Atlanta neighborhood market operator, runs the store.
What's inside
The shelves cover groceries, with a focus on fresh produce, bread, milk and cereal. The store is authorized for SNAP and WIC and partners with Georgia Grown to carry local produce, meats and dairy. A kitchen makes prepared food daily for grabbing on the go, and catering is available for gatherings.
