What it is
The Rialto opened in 1916 as the Southeast’s largest movie house and Atlanta’s first. Georgia State University has run it as a performing arts center since 1996. It sits in the Fairlie-Poplar district, at the corner of Forsyth and Luckie streets, and the hall seats 833, which keeps every show intimate.
What’s on stage
The main draw is the Rialto Series, a subscription season of jazz, world music, contemporary dance and international programs. The hall also hosts film screenings, Georgia State School of Music concerts and performances by visiting companies and other arts groups. Check the calendar on the Rialto’s website for upcoming shows and tickets.
Before you go
The Rialto recommends MARTA. Ride the North/South line to Peachtree Center station, follow the signs toward Ellis Street and the library, then walk down Forsyth Street. The theater is about two blocks along on the right. If you’re taking a rideshare, set the drop-off to 80 Forsyth St NW.
Tickets marked “Rialto Series” include validated parking at the 100 Peachtree Building deck (123 Fairlie St NW), half a block from the lobby. Bring your parking ticket to the Guest Services desk in the lobby. If you need an accessibility accommodation, contact the box office ahead of time with your name and the event date.
