Harry Underwood: The Design of Destiny opens at the Rialto Center for the Arts on Thursday, October 8, 2026, with gallery hours from 4 to 7 pm and an artist talk with the painter. Admission to the opening is free, and registration runs through the Rialto.
Underwood paints on wood panels using latex paint, pencil and varnish, pairing mid-century imagery such as palm trees, swimming pools and roadside architecture with handwritten thoughts on life. The show is presented with The Sun ATL and curated by Shawn Vinson. Gallery hours repeat on November 19 and December 17 from 4 to 7 pm, and the exhibition stays up through January 14, 2027, whenever the lobby is open for performances. On opening night the Rialto Film Series begins at 7:30 pm with Young Frankenstein, with film tickets listed at $7.
Registration and full details are on the official page.
